“Tea? Ah go on…” “No problem is too big nor small to be discussed over a cup of tea. I’ve sat drinking tea in the company of friends and family with tears of laughter and tears of sorrow in my eyes. The drawings around the pot reflect this. The golden ‘dome’ of the pot honours the ritualistic aspect of “The Golden Moment” of tea making and tea drinking. I added texture to the lid and the handle to enhance the tactile experience of handling the tea pot. The spout, the opening of the tea pot, that which pours forth the tea, is covered in mouths. What happens when we sit down with a cup of tea? We talk, pouring forth our thoughts, ideas, problems, stories, whatever it is that that particular “Golden Moment” is all about”. Una Gildea
