Dear Barry's:Well, I suppose this is kind of an unorthodox Golden Moment. And it happened a couple of years ago in New York City. I'm originally from New York, but I live in Galway now, and I was back visiting my writer friend Elizabeth. Awfully jetlagged, yet determined to hit the pubs, I had ended up somewhere in Midtown east, in, I think, the Turtle Bay Bar & Grill, where the bartenders -- luckily! -- were Irish. My energy was starting to flag a bit, and by about midnight, I told Liz I was just going to have to pack it in and go home. No sense falling asleep at the bar, right? "Pull it together, Meg!" hollered Liz. Then she pointed at the bartender. "I know you have some Barry's back there," she hissed. He did, and he made us two cups each -- after Cup Number One, I suddenly felt more human again. After Number Two, I was back to my old self, full of energy! Liz and I stayed out till nearly 4am: so thanks to Barry's, I was able to enjoy a great night out with a friend I hadn't seen in ages. Plus, I didn't even have a hangover the next day! Thanks again, Barry's!Megan (who wishes she had a photo of that night so she could attach it; rats! Instead the attached is, Me thinking about where my next cup of Barry's is coming from...!)
